As part of the DTI winter update, the Dress To Impress team launched a brand-new event within the game, and it was the Old Item Of The Week.
Every Saturday, the DTI team reintroduced an old item back into the game, after a rework.
All the items were items that players had loved previously, and we’d had three different items so far; the heart cutout dress, the granny dress and the butterfly top.
Each Saturday, the item refreshed, however DTI decided to change the old item of the week feature to an old item spotlight, where the item was refreshed every four weeks, to give players longer to play with the new reworked items.
Yesterday, we were supposed to say goodbye to the butterfly top, and hello to a new reworked item, but to our surprise, DTI just brought back the heart cutout dress… again.
It was SO disappointing to look forward to something completely new, with the countdown, only to see an item return again.
Well, there’s now an explanation as to what happened to the new item of the week in Dress To Impress?
“We had an issue with new item for today’s old item showcase refresh that sadly meant it wasn’t ready in time, which means it defaulted back to day 1.
We will be keeping the heart dress for now and will likely put the new item (when fixed) in for the next refresh.
This will last until the Valentines update when, as per the player feedback that has expressed their distaste for this system, we will remove the old item showcase and just return the currently reworked old items back to the map for good (similar to how we already confirmed the granny dress).“
So, it looks like we will not be getting new items of the week or the month, going forward from the Valentine’s update. They will just reintroduce the reworked items as and when they’re finished.
I think it’s a shame they’ve decided this, as it was fun to have new items to look forward to, but people were not enjoying the items coming and going, so it makes sense.
Now, the Old Item Showcase shows a countdown timer, which is 27 days (at the time of writing this post), and that would suggest the old item will disappear from the Valentine’s update, as per the DTI statement posted above.
So, one would assume that in 27 days, the Valentine’s update will be here, which would again, suggest that the Valentine’s update will be the Saturday, 8 February 2025, which is the date I guessed for Dress To Impress Valentines Update 2025. Watch this space……
